behavior analyst | supervisor | mentor | leader

I’m a career mom with four sporty boys who keep me on my toes. I’ve been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2006, supporting clients across a variety of settings, ages, and diagnoses. In 2013, I earned my Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA), which makes me feel like a bit of a dinosaur in this ever-evolving field.

For about a decade, I worked in residential settings—first with children with autism at the New England Center for Children and later with troubled youth at Becket Family of Services. After that, I transitioned to working in homes, schools, and community settings through Granite State ABA Services. In 2023, I launched Passion for Behavior, LLC with a mission to help the field of ABA grow deeper while it continues to grow wider. I’m passionate about behavior and leadership, and I love sharing these passions with others.

Building authentic relationships and fostering trust are at the heart of my work. Collaborating with families and professionals can be vulnerable and challenging, but I believe that a strong foundation of trust is essential to creating meaningful change and maximizing opportunities.

When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me cheering on one of my kids at their latest game or exploring breweries with my supportive husband. At home, we have a lively household with a rambunctious pup and over 40 chickens. I also have a bit of a houseplant obsession, always on the lookout for clippings to propagate and add to my growing indoor jungle.

How it all started

I discovered my passion for working with autistic individuals during my college years, though my journey into ABA wasn’t a straight path. I began pursuing a degree in Sports Medicine, initially dreaming of a career in physical or occupational therapy. Like many college students, I needed a part-time job, and I stumbled into the world of developmental disabilities. My first experience was providing 1:1 respite services at a rehabilitation center, where I was introduced to the transformative work of supporting autistic individuals.

A friend later connected me with a family she worked with, where I began providing direct services to two autistic brothers under the guidance of a BCaBA. I fell in love with the process of learning about behavior and understanding its impact. While I completed my undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine, my passion for ABA grew as I worked with this family and others, providing direct services and witnessing the incredible progress that ABA could achieve.

After graduation, I planned to move from North Carolina to Massachusetts and began exploring master’s programs in ABA. During a visit to Massachusetts, a chance conversation with a waiter at a Mexican restaurant introduced me to The New England Center for Children (NECC). I applied, was accepted, and embarked on an incredible journey. While working at NECC, I completed my Master’s degree in ABA through Western New England University. My time there included work on the Staff Intensive Unit, supporting teenage girls with severe self-injury and aggression, and later in the day program, where I worked with clients across various age groups and profiles. This experience solidified my understanding of the diversity and complexity within the field.

After earning my master’s degree, I transitioned to working for the Becket Family of Services, a residential treatment facility for youth. Here, I gained invaluable experience working with autistic individuals with comorbid trauma diagnoses, blending behavioral science with trauma-informed care. Over nearly seven years, I advanced from clinician to Treatment Coordinator and eventually Clinical Director, gaining a deep appreciation for leadership, collaboration, and developing effective treatment models. During this time, I also began supervising aspiring BCBAs, sharing my knowledge and guiding them toward certification.

Later, I joined Granite State ABA Services, a private agency where I delivered ABA services in home, school, and community settings. This role provided me with opportunities to collaborate with other BCBAs, develop my leadership skills further, and mentor new practitioners. By then, I had been a BCBA for nearly seven years—long enough to feel like a “dinosaur” in a field that was rapidly expanding with new certificants. I recognized the challenges this growth brought, including the need for strong supervision and mentorship to maintain high-quality practices in a young and evolving field.

Mentoring and supporting new BCBAs became a passion for me. In a small company, I found myself stepping into a leadership role, easing the burden on the owners and helping newer practitioners grow in their roles. While the company eventually merged with a larger organization, and my vision for leadership shifted, my commitment to helping the field thrive only deepened.

That passion inspired me to launch Passion for Behavior LLC , a company that focused on mentoring aspiring BCBAs and advising supervisors. However, as my vision for the future became clearer, I realized I needed a brand that reflected my purpose more specifically. That’s why I’m rebranding to Elevate Your ABA Supervision. This new chapter is centered on helping BCBAs build confidence and competence in their supervision practices, ensuring that they’re not only meeting BACB requirements but truly supporting the next generation of practitioners.

My mission is to guide both aspiring BCBAs and experienced supervisors by sharing the lessons I’ve learned, the challenges I’ve overcome, and the strategies I’ve developed throughout my career. With Elevate Your ABA Supervision, I’m committed to strengthening the field through mentorship, leadership, and a deep respect for the science and those it serves.

Empowering BCBAs® and RBTs to excel through expert mentorship and impactful training.
